- The financial liberalization policies which is on the agenda of developed countries in the 1970s, has been implemented in the developing countries in the 1980s by the orientation of developed countries and international organizations. These policies have been implemented in Turkish economy by the 24 January 1980 decisions. In 1989, by transition to financial liberalization, Turkish economy has experienced economic instability problem and faced with crises like other developing countries.In this context, especially after the financial crisis of 2001, financial restructurine policies have gained importance. Together with liberalization, capital flows have shown faster growth in the world. In particular, Turkey and other developing countries have begun to attract more foreing direct investment to their countries. To sustain their economic growth. The aim of foreign direct investment flowing to developing countries mainly is to use rich natural resources and cheaper labor force of these countries and to gain most of their market shares. Foreing direct investment which flows in Turkey comes particularly from EU countries. Strengthing policies in the financial sector and continuing economic growth in Turkey attract more EU foreign direct investment. In this study, the effects of financial development and economic growth on the EU foreign direct investment inflow have been analyzed by using ARDL cointegration mtehod for the period of 2005Q1-2015Q4. According to the results of the analysis, which financial development and economic growth employed together, both have causality effect on the EU foreign direct investment.
