    - This paper describes the design of an ActiveX control software used for simplifying the design and testing of Global Positioning System (GPS)-based systems for automatic vehicle location (AVL) applications. By using the ActiveX control software, Windows-based software can be developed on PCs to determine the location of a vehicle.
